When asked to design the landscape for this property, the Norman style Tudor home had just received a major addition and interior renovation. Working in tangent with the architects, the gardens and adjacent landscape I designed creates strong visual transitions from new areas to older ones. The romantic entry courtyard appears ‘ruined’ with shade plants below the wall sprouting between large slabs of bluestone and fruiting espalier rising above in the sun. Throughout the two acre corner property plantings and custom trelliage were used to screen utilities and the perimeter as well as to create the illusion of more space and expansive views.
